Special Olympics
YMCA is the local coordinator of special recreation and Olympics competition. Seasonal sports such as bowling (fall), basketball (winter), and track and field (spring) provide social, physical, and emotional growth opportunities for community members with developmental disabilities ages 8 and up.  These programs foster healthy living strategies, courage, joy, and lifelong friendships. Each season ends with a pizza party, East Regional Tournament and onto State Games for athletes that qualify.
