Developmental Disability Services

Purpose

Whitman County Developmental Disabilities Services plans, funds, and manages local services for Whitman County residents of children from birth to three and for adults who have developmental disabilities.

Departmental Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day program support services to reasonably protect the health and safety of people with developmental disabilities while promoting inclusion in the community
  • Encourage and support the ability of communities to include people with developmental disabilities
  • Determine the direction of contracted "services" based on the needs of Whitman County developmentally disabled citizens, state and federal guidelines
  • Ensure county contracted services meet the needs of the people served
  • Accepting Employment and Community Inclusion Proposals on an open continuous, qualification process.  Contact Whitman County's County Coordinator for an application.
